A spacious library and information centre spread (Ground Floor – 5,500 sq.ft & First Floor – 2200 sq.ft,
totally 7700 sq.ft) over 7,700 sq.ft. with a perfect ambience for exploring new vistas of knowledge.
Well furnished and comfortably seat 401 users.
A diversified collection of 41206 Volumes of books & 302
periodicals including 30 foreign journals & 272 indian journals
A diversified collection of 1624 CD's, DVDs, Cassettes
A rich collection of a large number of thesis and
dissertations (1,374) for the research minded.
More than 1300 Back volumes are available.
More than ‘30’ online journals and DELNET database are the main
source for the researches.
Digital & Print version of Indian Science Abstracts with ‘15’
years back issues are also available.
All library & information centre functions including inventory
control are Computerised and Barcoded
Library & Information Centre is recognized as a research centre for pursuing Ph.D.,
in Library & Information Science (External Programme) by Annamalai University
Total Barcoded Identity card is producing(Digital Photograph, typing, barcoding, printing, lamination etc.,)
and delivering to the staff & students by the Library & information centre itself.
Voice Recorder, Colour Laserjet (HP) printer, Sony Digital DVD player, Philips DVD player,
Large Screen Television, Pen drive, Barcode Scanners (4Nos), Bar code printer, colour
Image scanner (HP/higher end/2Nos), 25 Computers, New Arrivals Display, Newspaper stand,
comfortable Journal display, Barcode Data Collector etc., are available in the Library & Information Centre.
Mini Theatre was established with 75 seating capacity with LCD projector, Laptop computer,
Wide screen, Desk Top computer, TV Tuner card, Cable TV, DVD players, 1624 CDs & DVDs
Information Services in all disciplines is available from 8.00
AM to 8.00 PM in the Library & Information Centre
Large No.of information are collected & compiled by the Library & information centre.

- Barcoded Identity Cards for all the students are produced & distributed from the
Library & Information Centre itself (photograph, typing, printing, laminations & barcoding)
- A system of feedback from the users so as to eliminate any shortcomings.
- Active steps underway for networking the library with major libraries in the state.
