Kongunadu Arts and Science College, a college with a difference has introduced B.Sc.,
Computer Science course in year 1988-89, with an intake of 30 students which has
grown to 60 as on date. An additional section was introduced for the benefit
of the students in the year 1999-2000 with an intake of 40 students and has now grown to 60.
The academic year 1994-95 bloomed with another stone in the crowning glory of Kongunadu.
It was the period during which the most sought and the prestigious course MCA was
introduced with student intake of 30 and which has blossomed to 60.
BCA programme was introduced in the year 2000-2001 with an intake of 40 students
and has grown to 60, as on date. An additional section in BCA., was introduced
in the year 2007-2008 with an intake of 50 students .
Keenly observing the explosive development in the field of Information Technology,
the visionaries of the College management has also introduced 2 new courses , namely,
B.Sc., Computer Technology (CT) and M.Sc., Computer Technology from the academic year
2007-’08 to serve the student community and the country at large.
In addition to the regular courses, the department offers various short term training
courses in the frontier areas of Computer Science which include multimedia and hardware
courses. The department also conducts Job-oriented courses (JOC) and Career-oriented
programmes (COP) for the benefit of the student community at large and enable them ready
for industry standards.
